This superb George III period mahogany serpentine front chest of drawers has an overhanging shaped top with caddy moulded edge, four long graduated drawers, the top one fitted with brushing slide, dressing mirror, compartments and dividers with a secret inkwell holder pullout. The canted corners are stop-fluted and inlaid with ebony, the whole on finely shaped bracket feet.

This exceptional example retains its original pair of oval pewter caddies and red velvet lining. The satinwood box with ebony and boxwood stringing and kingwood cross banding, the lid with wonderful patera and silver handle.
