An extremely fine quality Pair of late Regency period Old Sheffield Plate Decanter Stands or Bottle Coasters. The deeply everting sides vertically lobed within stamped, filled and applied silver borders in the Rococo Revival manner with shells, scrolls and spiral lobing. The central silver boss to the turned wood base engraved with a dexter hand holding a book, the crest of Millar “Felicem Reddit Religio.”

Circa 1830.

Of grand proportions, shown with magnum bottles and decanter.

Condition: Vertical lobing shows copper. Some staining to the undersides, the roll-over edges good, showing natural signs of wear, retaining ancient felt base liners.
